BakeYard is a social focused food business providing Jamaican x English hearty meals and baked goods. Our social mission is to help tackle youth unemployment via providing young people in our local communities with mentoring, workshops & training in hospitality, catering, design and marketing.
The training program is based on seven foundational steps, which we wanted to being with the letter 'B' to be more memorable and also tie in with our brand name and family name, which also starts with 'B'.
We wanted the brand to appeal to both young & old so have two versions of the logo. One is more of an illustrated logo - reminiscent of the handwritten signs seen in Jamaica and graffiti/street art seen around the UK. The other logo, is more formal but with modern elements of offset text.
We wanted to include illustrations of items that would represent the business but also something that would represent that we are selling Caribbean style foods too.
